About Me
Hi im Andy and have been for the last 23 years. I grew up in a little town in Derbyshire
called Matlock where my fond love for coding first began.
When I had completed my GCSE's I moved onto college to study the BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design.
This lasted 2 years and in which my view on design had changed on a huge scale. The idea of designing websites left me;
all I wanted to become was a hard coder of all things wonderful on the web. When I finished my Graphic Design course I
went to Huddersfield University to study the BSc(hons) Web Technologies course, of which I am currently in my final year.
During my third year I went on a placement working in a designer opticians as their web developer. To begin with
this was a terrible job, all I was doing was putting frames onto their website, and taking them off once they had
been sold; an external company looked after the technical side of the site. With my spare time (within this job) I studied native
Android pragramming, and after working my way through a few books I managed to construct an application in which store information
could be retrieved, appointments could be booked and the latest stock could be viewed.
My boss approched me and asked me to look for a different company as the one he was using was expensive. I suggested letting me
build and maintain the site, to which he agreed. I am now in my final year of University, as well as working part time for the opticians
and I also make websites for other small buisnesses If I can find any spare time.
I would describe "Web Technologies" in a simple sense as my passion. It is something that I enjoy
being involved with in many different aspects. It keeps me driven and is something I see myself being
involved in for a long time. My main aim in life is to keep Flash alive!
